The Vision
The Edna Foundation is proud to announce the next phase of our journey: The Edna Village. This isn’t just a construction project; it is the physical manifestation of our promise to every child in Ethiopia living with a physical impairment. We have designed a 40,000-square-meter sanctuary in Mekelle that integrates every aspect of a child’s development—from medical rehabilitation to vocational mastery.
What the Village Represents
Currently awaiting final land approval from the government, the master plan is a holistic ecosystem. As seen in our recently unveiled site layout, the village will feature:
- The Clinical Wing: State-of-the-art facilities for physical therapy and specialized medical check-ups.
- The Learning Center: An inclusive school designed to remove physical barriers and provide adaptive learning tools.
- The Global Operations Hub: A central administrative office that will manage our expanding chapters in Addis Ababa, Australia, and the USA.
- Green Spaces & Recreation: Therapeutic gardens and an amphitheater for community advocacy and cultural expression.
